Just want to thanks to all people who put time and love in this, the new widgets are awesome!

Looks amazing! Quick question about a Button widget. Is it possible to use custom icons? Or extend the standard icon set somehow?

Thanks a lot for your hard work!

  3. Having problems with the themeroller for RC1. When clicking ‘download’, it basically just hangs. Anyone else having problems?

  4. I actually managed to download the lightness theme — but I cannot get the ‘Redmond’ theme to download. It appears there is a problem with the server here — tested on the client with multiple browsers on multiple machines — no love.

  5. Alright guys

I have download just the datepicker and uci componements.. I have tried to follow your tutorial guide, but not really helpful ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

I have added the css link, and script links as explained.. I then pointed them to my own files on my server.. I added the table format…

However it says that I need to add this bit of code.. But it just doesnt say where at all

    $(‘#date’).datepicker();

I have tried several places. But nothing happens at all.

    Please can you help

I updated to jquery ui 1.8, which is nice, especially the buttons.
Unfortunately currently the “demos & documentation” page shows stuff about jquery ui 1.7. No word about buttons.
Any hints where I can find the 1.8 documentation? I cannot work on my project because of this ๐Ÿ™

  7. Is there a way to get to the 1.8 themeroller before it goes back onto the public site? I was in the middle of configuring a theme when it disappeared.

It looks like the release candidate has been backed out. The documentation has been taken down and you can no longer download the new themeroller themes.

    Any explanation guys?

    Thanks!

Richard – is there a place we can vote on favorite bugs? There is one I filed against 1.7 that is still true in this RC? (#4940). I would update the ticket, only I seem to have forgotten my Trac accounts credentials :(.

  10. @Ari Maniatis and @Jacob Straszynsk – As I mentioned in a comment above, we had to take the site update down due to a server issue. The demos and docs are still available in svn, in the zip file, and on the wiki. The only thing that can’t be accessed at this time is ThemeRoller for 1.8rc1. It will be back up asap.

  11. @php/ajax – See above “How to report issues

The forums have a great feature where people can click a link on an issue that says “I also have this problem”

Thanks, Richard. I don’t know how I missed the “don’t put issues in the comments” note. Living proof about the age old UI concept “users don’t read”. ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. Hey, I’m in the middle of working with a theme of jquery-ui 1.8rc1, when is themeroller suppose to be back up and running? Also, is it possible to get a local version of themeroller working somehow? The website is awfully slow sometimes and takes sometimes more than 20 seconds to get “glass” effects and such updated when I change colors.. (and my internet is lightning fast)

  14. @Henry – see comments above
@Jordan – asap. We’re working on figuring out a way to make that happen (local ThemeRoller) but we’re not sure what it will take yet. Likely some more weeks to months. Also in the same timeframe we’re trying to tackle a refactor to help speed up ThemeRoller.

  15. jQuery UI is so awesome. I would love to see a sortable excel-like grid/table added sometime in the future.

    Thanks for jQuery UI!

  16. Sorry to ask again… I know you are working to resolve the issues, but I’m a bit stuck because I already upgraded to 1.8 (and am very happy!) but I need to use themeroller. Do you have an ETA? Is it in days or more like weeks? Then I can plan accordingly, and downgrade again to 1.7 if I need to.

Thanks for all your great work on the new release.

  17. It seems as if the CSS framework has changed very little between 1.7 and 1.8. I use jquery 1.8 with 1.7 CSS theme files and it’s working fine.. the only big difference I see is that 1.8 includes classes for buttons. (which I don’t use in my website)

Great stuff as always, but I was wondering is the release date soon?

I would like to use this, but Google CDN does not provide preview packages of jQuery (UI), and I think using jQuery by linking directly to Google server is the best possible way.

As a side note perhaps impossible, it would be nice to have preview packages through Google CDN also, if anyone has influence on that, might make it work?

  19. Seems like something very odd is happening… First, the rc1 rolled back; now, the rc2, which could be released somewhere near Fev 16, wasn’t released yet…
Are you experincing troubles in the development or things are all right (and just a little late)? We’re getting worried!

  20. @Tyron – Development is moving along just fine. rc1 wasn’t rolled back. The website changes to display concurrently both 1.7.2 and 1.8rc1 in the demos, download builder, and themeroller were removed while further testing on them takes place. The code was released and is available for testing. Meanwhile rc2 has been released as well, and is what people should be testing today. Our goal is to have the website changes ready when the 1.8 final code is ready, hopefully over this next week, if an rc3 isn’t needed before then.
